The GPX Prototype.
The prototype website showing the energy account of the prototype is shown
below as screendump. It has has been permanently active since 2 April 2007
from off 09:23 hours, but is now closed after succesfull performance of the
principles of operation. The account website shows numerical and graphical
consumption, production, totals and balance. When the balance reaches the
setpoint (standard on zero), an automatic switch (relay) will turn
off the load on the consumption-unit.

the solar energy GPX production.
The connected metering units are presently in Utrecht,
with the production unit at the Scorelstraat
in Utrecht, since Saturday 14 July 2007.
The Meter Starting Positions on demowebsite are:
production: 153206 Watt hour, consumption:
10032,5 Watt hour, balance 143173 Watt hour
The setpoint for "switch off" (switching of the
consumption) was set to 143173 Watt hours (143,2 kWh).

GPX demonstrates below an example of the connection of the production with consumption. The meter data is presented on a web-page, shown as screen-dump below from the day of 12 April 2007. Since the start on 2 April, a total energy consumption of 690 Wh was registered, mainly for the telecom-module. In the same 10 days, a total energy production of 19734 Wh was made as green energy. The resulting "stock" of available green energy is 19053 Watthours. Until 14 July 143173 Watt hours - solar energy - were produced at the roof of the school.
The energy source has been - since 2
April 2007 - a set of 3 solar panels on the primary school - Jan Ligthartschool,
Arnhem.
The first amount of energy (38Wh) was consumed with the GPX system on 10 April
for charging a battery for a mobile drill as equipment needed for a new extension
of the bird-house for the Great Tit
(Parus Major).
The balance is positive: 19053 Wh. (Now
functioning as a strategic green reservoir). The automatic switch does not
consume energy in steady state. Only the sole switch action will use some
energy (order of magnitude: 1 Watthours). The consumption for telecom-use
is relatively high due to the pilot situation. The system in the GPX module
is continuesly busy with sampling the pulse signal from the pulse-output from
the kWh-meter. This takes a power consumption of 2,7 Watt. Future development
will lower this "self-consumption".
With this action, the world's first GPX system is set to use in this
testing phase. We congratulate all partners involved.
