Link 1 - to go to different reports about Green Power in Acrobat-format (*.pdf)
In the past few years, several organisations have produced reports about green energy. Most of the reports were published in Acrobat (*.pdf) format. The GPX reports-site has available for reading more then 40 reports on green energy and related files. These reports and documents have stimulated the development of GPX.   The software for the Acrobatreader is free, save and available for different systems at this website.

Documents
The information given in the reports and documents have been the seed to start an irreversible proces that leads to freedom of choice for the source of electricity that one uses for the consumption of a certain or specific type of energy in electrical devices.

The idea is to create a bond, a sense of awareness about the source of the energy that one uses for devices to transform it into any form one prefers to see, hear or have.

GPX offers choice to consumers to use these devices using energy created by the consumers favourite type of production.

Market
GPX brings a new type of freedom to choose a cleaner environment - in a more tangible form.

This means that markets in transition regarding liberalisation (not neccesary privatisation) can make a difference with a tangible "face" to the residential and business consumers.

Usually the kWh-meter is situated at the entrance of the premises of the consumer. In general this is not a conveinient place to handle transactions. It may be expected that new solutions will arise regarding the control of the user over this meter. Interfaces with intelligence and high reliablity for remote datatransactions regarding the purchasing of electrical energy will come in sight. Interfaces will be neccesary to support devices such as "sattelite meters", energy monitoring devices, remote displays and datahandling units. Quite some activity is seen in the development of radiocommunicating chips and micro-chips for kWh-metering. These developments generate for manufacturers of connectors and apparatus a new field of innovative products.

For powercompanies entering the liberal market, the concept gives an opportunity to bring a tangible "face" to the kWh-retail markets by combining detailed fysical (technical) delivery of detailed certificates (for example solar certificates) with a more general delivery of less attractive forms of certificates (for example generation with biomass) which can be brought in the form of a contractual delivery. This special type of hybrid delivery justifies the higer price for the good and the standardized protocol for GPX keeps the price low for the technical parts.

Green power certificates are guaranteed by national governments. Each certificate represents an amount of energy generated at a certain time and place. In an interconnected electricity grid the place of physical consumption is far too complex to trace for the trader when this is compared to the tracebility of the green energy certificates themselves.

The legal consumption of certified energy takes place at the moment of legal transaction and is therefore traceable for the trader. So now the trader is able to keep track of the energy production and consumption. Subsequently the trader is now able to make a market where the price is set by supply and demand. This is how a free market (for energy) works.

The government sees to it that trading is fair and no energy certificates will be sold twice. In the fysical electricity market it is impossible to sell the energy twice.

Future (take a look

Situations can be envisioned watching the green power price on the mobile phone: the consumer can buy and upload to GPX instantly with a newly bought power-mix from an online GPX exchange.

It can also be envisioned that the price for certain types of renewable energy production will be lower compared to the price for conventional production. In this case the method for labeling energy will be an even more attractive opportunity for all parties involved

The choice between the quality of the electrical energy produced and the price that can be offered and payed for by the method of production relates to the responsibility of every energy consumer to take care of the closer and wider environment around the consumer.

The system is able to give a new platform to let the renewable energy grow, slowly but surely, into a full and mature market next to a deminishing market, also slowly and surely, for the greenhousegasses producing types of energyproduction.
